Senior tourism entrepreneur Devendra Wagle has passed away at the age of 55. Wagle, who served as the former Secretary General of the National Tourism Entrepreneur Association (NEAT) Nepal, died this evening at HAMS Hospital in Kathmandu, according to tourism professional Pashupati Kandel. He was admitted to the hospital on Kartik 19 after experiencing sudden liver complications.
A prominent figure in the tourism sector, Wagle was also a Mahadivision representative for the Nepali Congress in Gorkha. Over the years, he managed multiple businesses in Kathmandu’s prime tourist hub, Thamel, including hotels, travel agencies, and tour services. In addition to tourism, he held investments in sectors like hydropower, insurance, and banking.
Wagle’s final rites will be performed on Monday morning at the Aryaghat cremation site in Pashupati, as confirmed by family sources. His contributions to tourism and other industries have left a lasting impact, and his passing is mourned deeply within the community.
