The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is experiencing the partial effects of a westerly low-pressure system, resulting in varying weather conditions across the country.
Currently, the weather is partly cloudy in the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the rest of the country remains generally fair. However, fog has blanketed many parts of the Terai region, affecting visibility.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the weather this afternoon is expected to be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. In contrast, the rest of the country will continue to enjoy fair weather. There is a likelihood of light snowfall at one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Tonight, the weather in the hilly areas of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces will remain partly to generally cloudy. Light snowfall is anticipated at a few places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim, as well as at one or two spots in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki province.
Over the next 24 hours, the forecast suggests continued light snowfall in parts of the high hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, along with isolated areas in the Gandaki province.
Residents in the affected regions, particularly in high-altitude areas, are advised to exercise caution and stay updated on the latest weather developments.
