The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in several hilly areas of Nepal, including the Sudurpaschim Province, due to the combined influence of westerly and local winds.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, moisture-laden air entering the country from the Arabian Sea has partially influenced the current weather patterns. As a result, Koshi, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces are expected to experience partly to generally cloudy conditions. Meanwhile, the rest of the country will remain partly cloudy.

The Division further stated that isolated light rain and snowfall may occur in one or two places in the mountainous regions. There is also a chance of windstorms in a few places in the Madhes Province. Tonight, the weather will continue to be partly cloudy over the hilly areas and mainly clear to partly cloudy across the remaining regions.

Additionally, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. Light snowfall and rain are also likely in some mountainous locations during the night. The Meteorological Division has urged the public to remain cautious, especially in regions susceptible to thunderstorms, snowfall, and windstorms.
