On February 20, 2026, the China Cultural Center in Nepal hosted a grand Chinese New Year Garden Party in Kathmandu. The event was jointly organized by the China Cultural Center in Nepal, China Southern Airlines Kathmandu Office, and the China National Tourist Office in Kathmandu, with special support from the Confucius Classroom at L.R.I. International School. Over 330 guests attended, including Chinese Ambassador to Nepal H.E. Zhang Maoming, Nepal’s Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Mr. Sinha, Civil Aviation Authority Director Mr. Khan, and representatives from various sectors of both countries.

Festive Ambience and Cultural Highlights
The venue was adorned with traditional lanterns and festive decorations, creating a joyful atmosphere. Guests enjoyed a warm-up session featuring a large outdoor screen that showcased highlights from the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, promotional videos on China’s winter tourism, and an introduction to China Southern Airlines. Representatives from the China National Tourist Office and China Southern Airlines presented the “Nihao! China” tourism promotion, emphasizing convenient flight routes between Kathmandu and China, providing valuable travel insights for travelers and tourism enthusiasts.

Friendship and Cultural Exchange
During the celebration, Ambassador Zhang, Minister Sinha, and other distinguished guests exchanged greetings and shared messages of friendship and cooperation. The event featured a variety of traditional cultural performances, including the “Tempo of China” photo exhibition, interactive activities, and authentic Chinese cuisine. Guests experienced Chinese culture first-hand, seeing vibrant red decorations, tasting traditional Chinese flavors, listening to Chinese melodies, and feeling the festive spirit of Chinese traditions.
