Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, announced that the government is preparing to reopen Dharahara to the public shortly. During an interaction with journalists specializing in infrastructure at Singha Durbar today, Singh shared that arrangements are being made to allow public access to Dharahara within the first 100 days of the current government’s tenure.
Singh assured that although the complete restoration of Dharahara is still ongoing, provisions will be made soon for those eager to climb the historic tower. “The government will make arrangements within 100 days for those who wish to climb Dharahara. We are working to open at least a part of it,” stated Deputy Prime Minister Singh.
He also mentioned that the instability in the government had previously delayed the construction of new cities. However, with the current government formed by the two major parties in Parliament, efforts to make new cities safer and more organized will now move forward.
Regarding waste management in the Kathmandu Valley, Deputy Prime Minister Singh informed that the ministry is in ongoing discussions with local authorities. He also emphasized that the government is focusing heavily on policy formulation.
