The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) office in Jomsom conducted a series of activities in the Muktinath area aimed at promoting environmental awareness and improving local infrastructure. Under the Muktinath Conservation Area Management Committee, an interaction program was held with residents of Lupra village.

The discussions focused on the impacts of climate change, waste management, wildlife damage relief, human-wildlife coexistence, and the preservation of traditional knowledge and cultural heritage. Local participants shared their efforts and traditional practices in environmental conservation.

ACAP also inspected the trekking trail from Lupra to Panda Khola to assess its condition for potential upgrades. During the monitoring, the team observed wildlife, including the sighting of Naur (blue sheep), highlighting the region’s rich biodiversity. These initiatives aim to enhance environmental conservation, promote sustainable tourism, and support the local community’s role in preserving cultural and ecological heritage.
