The Annapurna Conservation Area (ACA) welcomed 108,705 visitors during the month of June, reaffirming its position as one of Nepal’s most visited and sought-after tourism destinations. According to the latest visitor statistics, a total of 108,705 tourists entered the ACA region during the month. Of these, 105,997 visitors were from SAARC countries, while 2,708 were international visitors from countries outside the South Asian region.

SAARC Visitors Continue to Dominate
The latest figures show that travellers from SAARC nations accounted for the overwhelming majority of visitors to the ACA region during June, reflecting the continued importance of regional tourism, particularly from neighbouring countries. International visitors from non-SAARC countries also maintained a steady presence, highlighting the region’s enduring appeal among global trekking enthusiasts despite the onset of Nepal’s monsoon season.

Annapurna Remains Nepal’s Premier Trekking Destination
Home to world-renowned trekking routes including the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek, Annapurna Circuit, Poon Hill, and several culturally rich mountain villages, the Annapurna region continues to be one of Nepal’s leading adventure tourism destinations. The area attracts thousands of trekkers each year for its diverse landscapes, Himalayan panoramas, rich biodiversity, and unique Gurung and Magar cultural heritage.

Tourism Stakeholders Focus on Sustainable Growth
Tourism stakeholders say consistent visitor arrivals demonstrate the ACA region’s strong appeal among both domestic and regional travellers. They emphasize the importance of maintaining trekking infrastructure, ensuring visitor safety, and promoting sustainable tourism practices to preserve the area’s natural and cultural assets. Authorities also continue to encourage responsible travel and close coordination among tourism businesses, local communities, and conservation agencies to support the long-term development of the Annapurna Conservation Area (ACA).
