The Hotels and Tourism Index closed almost unchanged on Monday, posting a marginal gain of 1.16 points (0.01%) to settle at 7,370.59, outperforming the broader market, which ended slightly lower.
The sectoral index opened at 7,369.03 and traded within a range of 7,324.43 to 7,432.87 during the session before closing in positive territory. The modest increase comes after the index had surged 35.27 points in the previous trading session.

NEPSE Slips Marginally
The benchmark Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index edged down by 1.20 points (0.04%) to close at 2,684.33, following a 12.96-point gain in the previous session.

The benchmark opened at 2,659.11 and moved between an intraday low of 2,658.08 and a high of 2,705.46 before settling at its closing level.

Turnover Remains Above Rs. 4.57 Billion
Despite the slight decline in the benchmark sector, investor participation remained active. A total turnover of Rs. 4.57 billion was recorded, with 11.45 million shares of 349 listed companies changing hands through 63,648 transactions. At the close of trading, the total market capitalization stood at Rs. 46.13 trillion, while the float market capitalization reached Rs. 15.60 trillion.
The Hotels and Tourism Index’s ability to remain in positive territory, even as the broader market slipped, indicates continued investor interest in tourism-related stocks following recent gains in the sector.
