Monsoon Weather Alert Across Nepal: Moderate to Heavy Rainfall Expected

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that monsoon winds are currently affecting the entire country, with the monsoon trough located near its average position. This has resulted in generally cloudy weather across Nepal. Light to moderate rainfall is occurring in some areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as in a few locations in other provinces.

According to the department, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected in one or two locations within Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, the weather will continue to be partly to generally cloudy nationwide. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected in some areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. The department has warned of heavy rainfall in one or two locations within Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, urging caution due to the potential risk of landslides, floods, and debris flows.

The department has also advised that daily activities, including agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road, and air transport, may be partially affected in these regions. All concerned parties are requested to take necessary precautions.
