On Wednesday, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) announced the exchange rates for foreign currencies. According to the central bank’s announcement, the value of major foreign currencies, including the US Dollar, Euro, and British Pound, has increased compared to Tuesday.
For instance, on Tuesday, the buying rate for one US Dollar was NPR 134.72, while the selling rate was NPR 135.32. However, for Wednesday, the buying rate has risen slightly to NPR 134.77, with the selling rate at NPR 135.37.
Similarly, the Euro saw a shift in value, with Tuesday’s buying rate for one Euro being NPR 141.96 and the selling rate at NPR 142.59. The new rates for Wednesday are NPR 142.22 for buying and NPR 142.85 for selling.
In the case of the British Pound, the buying rate was NPR 169.96 and the selling rate was NPR 170.72 on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the rates have increased to NPR 170.25 for buying and NPR 171.01 for selling.
As per the central bank, the Swiss Franc is now priced at NPR 152.63 for buying and NPR 153.31 for selling. The Australian Dollar has a buying rate of NPR 87.51 and a selling rate of NPR 87.90, while the Canadian Dollar is set at NPR 96.14 for buying and NPR 96.57 for selling.
Other currencies such as the Singapore Dollar, Japanese Yen, Chinese Yuan, Saudi Riyal, Qatari Riyal, Thai Baht, UAE Dirham, Malaysian Ringgit, South Korean Won, and Swedish Krona also saw slight changes in their exchange rates.
For example, the Japanese Yen is now set at NPR 8.76 for buying and NPR 8.80 for selling, while the Chinese Yuan is priced at NPR 18.62 for buying and NPR 18.70 for selling. The Saudi Riyal is listed at NPR 35.90 for buying and NPR 36.06 for selling.
The NRB further mentioned that these exchange rates may be revised as necessary and that commercial banks may offer different rates. Updated exchange rates will be available on the NRB’s official website.
