Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, affirmed that Nepal’s airspace is safe and secure. Speaking at the 26th-anniversary celebration of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), he highlighted Nepal’s geographical advantage, which ensures the country’s airspace remains dynamic and appealing for civil aviation. Minister Pandey emphasized, “Nepal’s airspace is safe with no issues. Its geographical location adds safety and dynamism, and we must promote this message globally.”
The minister also noted that despite Nepal’s challenging terrain, the nation attracts a significant number of tourists due to its numerous tourism destinations and religious sites.
State Minister Arun Kumar Chaudhary commended CAAN’s work, stating, “The authority’s working approach is satisfactory. With collective support, CAAN has achieved significant success.”
Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ganesh Prasad Pandey, stressed the urgent need to operate aircraft in remote and mountainous regions, as road transport remains inaccessible in these areas. “Aircraft are essential for providing services to citizens, and the ministry is ready to extend the required support,” he added.
CAAN Director General, Engineer Pradeep Adhikari, reiterated the safety of Nepal’s airspace and outlined ongoing and future initiatives to ensure air safety.
The event also saw the release of a special CAAN publication and the recognition of journalists and employees who made significant contributions to the authority’s success.
