The Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has formally acknowledged the successful first ascents of two previously unclimbed peaks, Chhuama II (6,325 m) and Chhuama I (6,366 m), located in Upper Mustang. The ascents were completed in alpine style, marking a significant milestone in Nepal’s exploratory mountaineering history.

Historic First Ascents Achieved
Both peaks were summited on 21 December 2025, with the expedition team achieving a remarkable full traverse between Chhuama II and Chhuama I. This accomplishment not only demonstrates exceptional technical skill and endurance but also contributes to the expansion of mountaineering knowledge in the region.
