A stupa has been constructed in Panchdhare, Temke Maiyung-9, Bhojpur, to develop and promote the area as a tourist destination.
According to Ward Chairperson Nabaraj Mangpahang, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation allocated NPR 2.7 million for the construction of the Buddhist stupa, which is being built in a design similar to the Bouddhanath Stupa in Kathmandu. Skilled artisans from Solukhumbu have been brought in for the construction.

The stupa aims to promote religious tolerance and cater to the Buddhist community, while also boosting tourism. Plans include trail development, fencing, and tree plantation around the site.
Additionally, the construction of “Panch Dham” in Panchdhare is underway, ensuring inclusivity for all communities. A Kirat Cultural Hall is being built for NPR 8 million, and plans are in place to construct a Pashupati Temple for the Hindu community.
Resident Saugat Rai noted that the preservation of Panchdhare Pond and Kirateshwar Stone Garden, along with new trails, has increased domestic tourism. Vice-chairperson Ramadevi Rai emphasized the municipality’s focus on structured tourism and agriculture development, aiming to integrate these sectors with local livelihoods.
