Sudurpashchim Province Governor, Nazir Miyan, has emphasized that the province is a treasure trove of language and culture. Speaking at a special Gaura and Teej program organized by the National Folk Culture Foundation Nepal, Central Committee, Sudurpashchim Province, in Attariya, Kailali, today, Governor Miyan noted that the songs and music reflecting the language and culture of Sudurpashchim Province are gaining widespread recognition at the national level.
Governor Miyan stated, “Sudurpashchim is a mine of language and culture, holding greater significance than many other regions. This province has a rich cultural identity, and it has now established its unique identity on a national scale.” He also assured that the government is committed to preserving the culture of the region.
During the Gaura and Teej special event, Governor Miyan was honored with a civic reception. The event featured several dignitaries, including Chairman Liladhar Baskota, Minister of State for Economic Affairs of Sudurpashchim Province, Prakash Bam, Provincial Assembly Member Tulsi Devkota, and Assistant Chief District Officer Kiran Joshi. They honored Governor Miyan with a traditional shawl and a letter of appreciation.
In addition to Governor Miyan, five women from Sudurpashchim Province were also honored at the event. The program included a Teej song competition, celebrating the cultural vibrancy of the region.
