TAAN Gandaki Urges Ministry to Address Trekking Sector Challenges

On March 22, 2081, the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) Gandaki submitted a memorandum to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Kathmandu, addressing several critical issues and challenges concerning Nepal’s trekking tourism sector.

The memorandum, presented to the ministry’s Secretary Binod Kumar Singh, highlights the promotion and development of trekking tourism across Nepal and the contemporary problems and challenges faced in the sector.

The document emphasizes the need for enhanced efforts to promote trekking as a vital part of Nepal’s tourism industry. It discusses the development of trekking infrastructure, the improvement of facilities for trekkers, and the support of trekking agencies to ensure sustainable growth in this sector.

Furthermore, the memorandum urges the government to address ongoing challenges that are impeding the smooth growth of trekking tourism, including issues related to permit regulations, road infrastructure, and safety protocols for trekkers.

The submission comes as the trekking sector experiences a surge in international visitors. However, it also faces several obstacles that require immediate attention and action from both the government and relevant stakeholders. TAAN Gandaki hopes that the government will take the necessary steps to resolve these issues to ensure the continued success and sustainability of trekking tourism in Nepal.

The association has called for collaborative efforts between the government and trekking agencies to overcome the current hurdles and make Nepal a more attractive and safe destination for trekkers from around the world.
