Renowned tourism entrepreneur Karna Shakya, along with veteran artists Madan Krishna Shrestha and Madan Das Shrestha, were honored today for their significant contributions to social development. The recognition took place at a special event organized by the Bagmati Province Tourism Development Committee of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) at the Birajman Complex.
Karna Shakya, a leading figure in Nepal’s tourism industry, shared that he has been driving a positive thinking campaign using the proceeds from the sales of his published works. He emphasized the importance of uniting all Nepalese in the nation’s building process through social service and highlighted how social initiatives can contribute to the country’s development.
Veteran artist Madan Krishna Shrestha expressed that he remains actively engaged in the artistic field, seeing it as a powerful medium to combat corruption and unethical practices prevalent in the country. His commitment to using art for social change was a key reason for his recognition.
Madan Das Shrestha, another respected figure in the arts, expressed that receiving this honor has provided him with additional motivation to continue his work in the field.
State Laxmi Shakya, the program coordinator, stressed the importance of honoring pioneers who have been active in various sectors to promote social justice and economic transformation in the country.
During the event, special recognition was also given to senior citizens, including 101-year-old Gore Luvanzar, and Raghuvar Manandhar, the General Manager of Image Channel, for their contributions to society.
