Westerly Wind Influences Nepal’s Weather, Light Snowfall Expected in High Hills

The westerly wind continues to influence Nepal’s weather, bringing varied conditions across different regions. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecasted partly to generally cloudy weather in the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces, while the rest of the country will experience fair weather today.

According to the department, dense fog has enveloped many areas of the Tarai, impacting visibility and daily activities. Light snowfall is expected at one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, with clear skies in the rest of the country. Similar conditions will persist on Friday, with partial cloud cover in Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

The department has advised caution, particularly in the Tarai region, where foggy conditions are likely to continue on Friday morning. The fog may disrupt daily life, agriculture, health services, transportation, and aviation operations.

Authorities have urged residents, travelers, and farmers to remain alert and take necessary precautions as weather conditions fluctuate in different parts of the country.
