The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has announced plans to establish a Tourist Information Centre at Pokhara International Airport in collaboration with the Civil Aviation Office and Tourist Police. The initiative aims to enhance the travel experience of visitors by providing comprehensive tourism-related information and on-site assistance. The initiative is being implemented in coordination with the Civil Aviation Office and Tourist Police.
Enhancing Tourist Experience in Gandaki Province
According to Maniraj Lamichhane, Chief of the Gandaki Province Office of the Nepal Tourism Board, the center is being set up with the objective of providing comprehensive information to tourists arriving in Pokhara. The facility will offer guidance not only about Pokhara but also about key tourist destinations across Gandaki Province.

Lamichhane emphasized that the initiative is designed to facilitate smoother travel experiences for both domestic and international tourists. By offering reliable information and support services, the center aims to help visitors better plan their itineraries and explore the region more effectively.
Joint Effort for Tourist Facilitation
The Tourist Information Center will operate through collaboration between multiple stakeholders, including the Nepal Tourism Board, Civil Aviation authorities, and Tourist Police. To ensure efficient service delivery, the center will be staffed by Tourism Board personnel and two dedicated Tourist Police officers. The presence of Tourist Police is expected to enhance safety and provide immediate assistance to visitors, addressing queries and concerns related to travel, security, and local regulations.

Pokhara: Nepal’s Tourism Capital
Pokhara is widely regarded as Nepal’s tourism capital, attracting a large number of domestic and international visitors each year. Known for its scenic beauty, adventure tourism, and cultural attractions, Pokhara serves as a gateway to the Annapurna region.
The introduction of the Tourist Information Center at the international airport is expected to further strengthen Pokhara’s appeal as a premier tourist destination. Authorities believe that the facility will significantly benefit travelers by providing immediate access to essential tourism-related information upon arrival.

The establishment of the information center reflects ongoing efforts to improve Nepal’s tourism infrastructure and services. By focusing on visitor convenience and safety, the initiative aligns with broader strategies to promote sustainable tourism and enhance the country’s global image as a welcoming destination.
Officials expressed confidence that the new service will play a vital role in improving overall tourist satisfaction and encouraging longer stays and repeat visits in the region.
