Badrinarayan Temple to Host Grand Pran Pratishtha Ceremony from in Nagarjun-7

The Narayan Pokharel Foundation is all set to organize a grand Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav (consecration ceremony) for the idol of Lord Badrinarayan at the Badrinarayan Temple, located in Ramkot, Nagarjun-7, Kathmandu, from Baishakh 19 to 27, 2082 B.S. (May 2–10, 2025). The foundation has extended a heartfelt invitation to all devotees, spiritual seekers, and well-wishers to attend this auspicious religious event and grace the occasion with their presence.

The nine-day religious ceremony will commence on Baishakh 19 (May 2) with a series of spiritually significant rituals. The day will begin at 8:30 AM with the Shobha Kalash Yatra and a grand chariot procession carrying the symbolic idol of Lord Badrinarayan through the temple premises and surrounding areas. At 12:30 PM, the official inauguration ceremony will be held, marking the beginning of the spiritual journey.

This will be followed by Purbanga rituals, a set of preliminary Vedic rites. The evening program, starting at 7:00 PM, will include a majestic Shringarik Maha Aarti and a devotional music evening (Bhajan Sandhya), creating a divine ambiance. On the same day, preliminary Vedic rituals related to the Pran-Pratishtha, including Jaladivas (ritual immersion of the idol), will be initiated.

From Baishakh 20 to 25 (May 3 to 8), daily religious activities will be carried out with deep devotion and Vedic precision. Each morning from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the rituals will include Rudrabhishek, Shrimad Bhagwat Saptah, Vishnu Sukt, Gayatri Jap, Gita Path, Durga Saptashati, Vishnu Sahasranam, Vedic chanting, and various types of Havan (fire rituals).

These offerings aim to sanctify the environment and energize the temple premises with divine vibrations. From 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM, spiritually enriching and insightful discourses (Bhaktimayi Pravachan) will be delivered by renowned religious speakers and saints. The evenings will again be adorned with Shringarik Maha Aarti and Bhajan Sandhya, attracting hundreds of devotees in devotional fervor.

Every single day of the event will also witness distinct Vedic activities specifically aligned with the different stages of the idol consecration process. The elaborate and meticulous rituals are being conducted as per ancient scriptures and spiritual guidelines to invoke divine energy into the deity’s idol and spiritually empower the temple sanctum.

The most sacred day of the event, Baishakh 26 (May 9), will mark the official completion of the Pran-Pratishtha of the idol. The day will feature special religious discourses and ceremonial Atithi Satkar (honoring of guests), recognizing the contributions of saints, spiritual leaders, and cultural figures who have supported the event.

On the concluding day, Baishakh 27 (May 10), final Vedic rituals such as the Purnahuti of the Havan, Data Samman (felicitation of donors), and a Samapan Samaroh (closing ceremony) will take place. This day will serve as a culmination of divine blessings, community togetherness, and spiritual enrichment, reflecting the successful completion of the consecration festival.

This sacred occasion, organized by Narayan Pokhrel Foundation, not only serves as a major religious event but also as a vibrant expression of Nepal’s rich spiritual and cultural traditions. The event is expected to attract a large number of devotees from different parts of the country, fostering spiritual unity and promoting the cultural heritage of Kathmandu.

With a harmonious blend of rituals, prayers, devotional music, and spiritual discourses, the Pran Pratistha Mahotsav promises to be a spiritually enriching experience for all attendees. The foundation has extended a heartfelt invitation to all devotees and well-wishers to join this divine celebration and be part of a historic spiritual journey at the Badrinarayan Temple in Ramkot.
