Ward Chairperson Ekraj Acharya shared that this collective effort reflects the strong local commitment toward preserving the area’s tourism potential and ecological health.
Activities Under the Labor Campaign
“Through this labor donation, we are working hard to protect Ganga Khola,” said Chairperson Acharya. “Our efforts include improving pathways to facilitate visitor movement, planting vegetation to enhance natural beauty, removing invasive shrubs, and cleaning the springs that feed the river.”
He explained the unique importance of Ganga Khola’s springs, which never dry up even during drought, and how the river’s unusual south-to-north flow adds to its significance. Although the ward recognizes that extensive funding is needed for full-scale development, Acharya noted that alongside labor contributions, a portion of the budget has been allocated to support conservation activities.
