The Everest Trek has officially resumed, providing adventurers with the opportunity to explore one of the most iconic trekking routes in the world. However, it is important to note that the access road (BP Highway) connecting Kathmandu to Manthali is currently closed. In light of this, there are three alternative options available for trekkers wishing to fly to Lukla from Kathmandu:
- Direct Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla: This is the most straightforward option, allowing trekkers to reach Lukla without any additional travel.
- Connecting Flights via Manthali: Trekkers can opt for a flight from Kathmandu to Manthali, followed by a connecting flight from Manthali to Lukla.
- Journey via Janakpur: Another option is to take a flight from Kathmandu to Janakpur using a 72-seater airplane, and then transfer to a smaller plane for the Janakpur to Lukla leg of the journey.
Additionally, it is anticipated that the alternative road to Manthali airport will reopen within the next two days via Charikot. This will provide trekkers with the option to drive to Charikot before taking a flight to Lukla from Manthali. As conditions improve, trekkers are encouraged to plan their trips to experience the stunning beauty of the Everest region.
