Historic Entrance Gateway Unveiled at Dholthana, Myagdi

A newly constructed entrance gateway, artistically designed with intricately carved stones, has been unveiled at the historic site of Dholthana in Beni Municipality-9, Myagdi. The gateway is a testament to the rich cultural heritage of the region, offering visitors a grand entrance into the historical location.

Dholthana, situated at an altitude of 1,880 meters above sea level, holds significant historical importance in the Parbat region. The site is renowned for its ancient palace, where the kings of the erstwhile Parbat Kingdom ruled during the monsoon seasons from 1631 to 1843 B.S. This palace served as a crucial administrative center during that period, with the rulers overseeing the kingdom’s affairs from this elevated location.

The newly established gateway is not just a symbol of architectural beauty but also a marker of the historical relevance of Dholthana. The stone-carved entrance, created with meticulous craftsmanship, enhances the area’s appeal as a tourist destination. Visitors to Dholthana can now enter the site through this beautifully designed gateway, which adds to the overall experience of exploring the historical ruins and understanding the legacy of the Parbat Kingdom.

This development is part of a broader initiative to preserve and promote the historical and cultural sites in Myagdi, aiming to attract more tourists and scholars interested in Nepal’s rich history. The local community and authorities hope that the gateway will serve as a focal point for cultural tourism in the region, bringing greater attention to Dholthana’s historical significance.
