The Manakamana Cable Car has returned to its regular operation following a temporary suspension for repair and maintenance. According to Ujjwal Sherchan, Deputy Manager of Manakamana Darshan Pvt. Ltd., the service, which was halted from October 15 to 17 for essential repairs, has been fully restored as of today. During the maintenance period, the cable car underwent servicing, and its cables were tightened to ensure smooth and safe operation.
Since its inception on November 24, 1998, the Manakamana Cable Car has played a pivotal role in facilitating visitors’ access to the revered Manakamana Temple, a popular pilgrimage site dedicated to the goddess Bhagwati. The temple is located in the Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality of Gorkha district.
The cable car’s bottom station is situated in Cheres, Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-4, Chitwan district, making it a key transit point for pilgrims and tourists traveling to the historic shrine.
