In a major cleanliness initiative, Pathibhara Dhama, a renowned pilgrimage site in Taplejung, successfully managed to collect nearly 1,000 kilograms of waste through a large-scale cleaning campaign. The event was organized by the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, with participation from over 130 individuals, including security personnel from all three local security forces, committee members, staff, and local residents from the nearby Fedi area.
According to the Executive Director of the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, Prajin Hangbang, the cleaning drive focused on collecting and properly managing plastic, metal, tin, and glass waste.
Chief District Officer, Netra Prasad Sharma, emphasized that the cleanliness efforts were carried out with the support of the administration, ensuring the preservation of Pathibhara’s environmental integrity. He urged devotees and tourists visiting the site to refrain from littering and to join efforts in maintaining the cleanliness of this sacred place.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Naresh Maherjan from the Armed Police Force, 1st Battalion, Kanchanjunga, highlighted the continuous role of security agencies in maintaining cleanliness around the temple and attracting more visitors.
The cleaning initiative was prompted by the accumulation of waste during the peak visiting periods of Dashain and Tihar festivals, when the area experiences an influx of devotees. The Pathibhara Area Development Committee has committed to continuing this environmental preservation effort through regular cleanliness drives.
