On the occasion of World Tourism Day, Bandipur, a popular tourist destination in Tanahun, is set to host a Street Food Festival on Ashwin 11. Along with the festival, various cultural programs are planned to showcase the town’s rich heritage.
The event is being organized by Bandipur Rural Municipality in collaboration with the Bandipur Tourism Development Committee and local organizations. Kisan Pradhan, the president of the tourism committee, shared, “We aim to welcome tourists to Bandipur with a series of vibrant cultural performances.”
According to Pradhan, different ethnic groups will present cultural displays during the event, highlighting the town’s diversity. With the start of the peak tourist season in Bandipur, local businesses are preparing to greet the influx of visitors.
Chairman of Bandipur Rural Municipality, Surendra Thapa, emphasized that the festival would support tourism promotion. He mentioned that the municipality has prepared materials in nine languages—Nepali, Chinese, English, French, German, Hindi, Spanish, Sinhala, and Thai—to provide tourists with essential information about Bandipur’s attractions.
Key sites listed as major attractions in the region include Khadga Devi Temple, Thani Mai Temple, Mahalakshmi Temple, Siddha Cave, Mani Mukundsen Hiking Route (Mini Great Wall), Tindhara Waterfall, Tundikhel, Mani Mukundsen Palace, and the Padma Library. Bandipur has been a favorite destination, particularly for tourists from China, France, and Germany, who are drawn to its pleasant climate, traditional customs, and old-world architecture.
Located 18 kilometers from Damauli and a further 8 kilometers uphill from Dumre, Bandipur offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. The natural beauty, combined with its panoramic vistas, makes Bandipur a must-visit destination for anyone seeking tranquility and cultural immersion.
This year’s Street Food Festival promises to enhance Bandipur’s appeal as a top tourist destination, welcoming both domestic and international visitors to experience its charm.
