Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Shifts Printing Tasks to Pragya Press

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation has decided to carry out all printing-related tasks for its affiliated bodies through the Pragya Press under the Nepal Academy.

The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Minister Badri Prasad Pandey on Sunday. The meeting concluded that all printing works required by the ministry and its subordinate bodies will henceforth be managed by the Pragya Press.

According to Minister Pandey’s secretariat, the meeting also decided that the Pragya Press would provide details of its printing capabilities along with its operational guidelines to all concerned bodies under the ministry.

This decision aims to optimize the currently underutilized printing facility, which operates at only 15% of its total capacity. With this change, the press is expected to operate at full capacity, handling printing tasks worth over NPR 120 million annually. Additionally, it is estimated that this move will save the government NPR 30–40 million each year.

Earlier, during a visit to the Nepal Academy, Minister Pandey had discussed fully operationalizing the Pragya Press to enhance its revenue generation with the academicians.

This initiative is anticipated to bring efficiency to the ministry’s printing needs while ensuring cost-effectiveness for the state.
