The 15th edition of the Chitwan Festival has concluded. Organized by the Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry along the banks of the Narayani River, the festival was attended by around 500,000 visitors.
According to the festival’s main committee coordinator, Suman Kumar Shrestha, transactions worth approximately NPR 3 billion were conducted during the event. The festival featured 430 stalls, including job fairs, a “Hardware Expo,” auto zones, restaurant zones, fun parks, a China Expo, and areas dedicated to small and cottage industries, agriculture, and more.
Coordinator Shrestha stated that the festival proved useful for promoting industries and businesses, preserving art, literature, and culture, safeguarding the traditions, customs, and attire of Indigenous communities, and highlighting the development potential in agriculture, tourism, education, health, energy, information technology, and infrastructure.
The festival also hosted competitive exhibitions of agricultural and handicraft products, small and cottage industries, automobiles, and industrial goods. Additionally, workshops on agriculture, education, health, tourism, and IT, as well as a health camp, were organized during the event.
The festival concluded in the presence of Bagmati Province Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama, who emphasized that the provincial government is actively working to create a business-friendly environment.
